Executive board nominations for President, Secretary, and Treasurer opened at the fall conference September 27th during the general membership meeting. We hope you will consider running for one of these leadership roles with NATA. PRESIDENT/PRESIDENT-ELECT
The PRESIDENT acts on behalf of the Association in matters of policy and decision making. As the elected representative of the Association, he/she has final voice on all activities under the endorsement of NATA with approval of the Executive Officers. The President will coordinate and delegate responsibilities to officers, committees, and representatives; represent NATA in all appropriate groups and/or associations which seek to support the advancement of art in Nebraska, or delegate such a representative; represent NATA at the NAEA States’ Assembly or delegate such a representative, and review all appointed positions annually.
The PRESIDENT provides leadership for implementation of national goals and strategies for art education, through NATA.
The PRESIDENT-ELECT shall assist the President as delegated and assume presidential responsibilities in the absence of the President or when so designated.
Qualifications:
The PRESIDENT must have an established record of leadership and participation in NATA, and familiarity with the goals and processes of the Association.

TREASURER
Attends all NATA Executive Committee meetings and at least 2 of the 3 NATA Board meetings per year and supports the leadership activities of the Association by networking with Board members: informs them of available funding/budgeted allowances for their respective areas of responsibility.
Presents an annual Fiscal Year Budget that realistically provides for the activities of the Association
Maintains accurate and up-to-date financial records of investments, income, and expenses
Pays all bills in a timely manner
Communicates issues/concerns/recommendations related to Association Finances to the NATA Board. Prepares and presents an annual financial report to the membership at the Fall Conference
Updates the Treasurer’s Handbook yearly
Completes report forms for the IRS
Arranges for an annual financial review of Association books
Preserves and maintains required and historical financial records.
Qualifications:
Any NATA member who has strong organizational skills, currently manages family finances, has experience using computer spread sheets such as Excel or Quicken, has a record of completing work in a timely and efficient manner, has an understanding of the mission and operations of the Association, and is willing to devote a significant amount of time to NATA, qualifies for the position of Treasurer.
The Treasurer must be of sound character, reliable, and, above all, trustworthy. It is recommended that the Executive Committee actively seek information about these characteristics prior to accepting the nomination of any individual for election as Treasurer or selection as Bookkeeper.

Records and distributes minutes of board meetings within three weeks of the meeting. Forwards copies electronically to:
