2011-12 Scholastic Art Awards of Nebraska


Welcome back to the 2011-2012 school year. Omaha Public Schools is proud to again host the Scholastic Art Awards of Nebraska. This affiliation replaced Nebraska State Visual Arts Competition two years ago and all submissions will go through Scholastic Art Awards’ website www.artandwriting.org

All seventh–twelfth graders are eligible to enter. Please encourage your creative arts staff to enter. Categories include drawing, painting, jewelry, photography, graphic design, fashion, video games, film and animation, and mixed media. For more information about these and other categories, visit www.artandwriting.org.  Please take time to thoroughly read the guidelines and all materials to ensure your entries are submitted correctly for each opportunity.

2011-12 Guidelines

The deadline is January 13. All entries will be entered uploaded digitally. 

Judging will still be separated into three grade level categories: 7 & 8, 9 & 10, and 11 & 12. 

The awards ceremony will be on February 25th. (March 10th if needed for snow or inclement weather)  Details regarding the ceremony will be sent out with award letters. The exhibition dates are February 22–March 14.
