2013 Congressional Art Competition

 

NATA is proud to facilitate the Congressional Art Competition for Nebraska’s 2nd and 3rd Congressional Districts. This is a competition for High School Students. 

The winner in each district has the privilege of having their art work on display in the Nation’s Capitol and receives two round trip plane tickets to Washington D.C. to participate in recognition ceremonies there. 
Winners will also be recognized at the Nebraska Youth Art Month Celebration, State Capitol Rotunda, March16, 2013 at 2:00 P.M.. 

While there is no charge to enter the Congressional Art Competition (CAC), secondary art specialists who are entering the Scholastic Art Competition may designate artwork to also be entered into the Congressional Art Competition with the proper paperwork.

CAC criteria and forms can be found at http://www.house.gov/content/educate/art_competition/ Forms will be updated on the Congressional website in January however, 2012 forms may be used.

Secondary students may also enter the CAC separately by filling out the paper work and sending digital images and forms to:  CAC c/o Deborah Kippley, 1004 N. Beadle St. Papillion, NE., 68046 or planartsnetwork@icloud.com (Please put CAC in the email memo.) Please do not send a JPG larger than 6 MB.

All entries must be received by February 15, 2013 with the appropriate forms and winners will be contacted by March 1, 2013.  CAC information can be found on the NATA website under the News & Events or Advocacy tabs. 

Artwork must be two-dimensional and up to 28" x 28" x 4" including the frame and not more than 15 lbs. Artwork may be in the following Categories: painting, prints, drawings, photographs, collage and computer art. 

Entries Due: Through Scholastic – January 14, 2013, Outside of Scholastic - February 15, 2013

Notification: March 1, 2013

Nebraska Recognition: 2:00 P.M., March 16, 2013, Nebraska State Capitol Rotunda
